Data Deletion
You have real control over your data. This page explains what Sygna holds, how to request deletion, and what happens when you do.
Are you a merchant (Sygna account holder)?
What we hold about your account
- Account profile: name, email, business name, site URL.
- Encrypted ad platform credentials — Meta Pixel ID and access token, GA4 Measurement ID and API secret, Google Ads customer/conversion-action IDs and OAuth tokens, TikTok pixel and access token.
- Conversion event logs forwarded by the plugin: event types, hashed customer identifiers, order values, UTM parameters, ad click IDs, consent state.
- Business-profile notes, if you added them, and the AI-generated suggestions derived from them (see our Privacy Policy's AI-processing section).
- Business profile, strategy, and recommendation history.
- Lead records (if you used lead tracking).
- Audit log of configuration changes (no secrets — only safe metadata such as pixel ID and event type).
- Health alert preferences and support messages.
What we do not store
- Raw (unhashed) email addresses or phone numbers of your site visitors.
- Payment card data.
- Passwords.
How to stop new data from being collected
Disconnect the plugin in Sygna Settings, or deactivate/uninstall Sygna Connect for WooCommerce from WordPress. Once inactive, no further events are accepted. Data already collected remains until deleted as below.
How to delete a site and its data
If you are the account owner, open Sygna Settings for that site and choose Remove this site and its data. After you type the displayed site identity and your signed-in email, Sygna immediately removes the site workspace, stored events and leads, business profile, recommendations, local destination credentials, and connection history. This works whether the WordPress plugin is connected or already disconnected. Your Sygna login account stays open so you can connect another site.
How to delete your full Sygna account
A sole account owner whose account has no external billing record can choose Delete your Sygna account in Settings. Sygna first revokes provider authorizations, then permanently removes every site, connection, event, lead, profile, membership, login session, and account record. If the account has other members or a billing record, email [email protected] with the subject Account Deletion Request so access, billing-processor records, and any legally required retention can be closed safely.
Deletion timeframes
| Data type | Deleted within |
|---|---|
| Self-serve site workspace, local credentials, event logs, and lead records | Immediately after confirmation |
| Self-serve account access and account-owned data | Immediately after required provider revocations complete |
| Encrypted provider credentials needed for remote revocation | Only until the provider confirms revocation; then deleted with the account |
| Aggregated, anonymized statistics | Retained — cannot identify you |
Self-serve site and account deletion confirm completion in the product. For support-assisted deletion, we will confirm when the billing and deletion lifecycle is complete.
What may be retained
If we are legally required to retain certain data (for example, for tax records or an active legal proceeding), we will tell you what we are keeping and why. For self-serve site deletion, Sygna may retain a random deletion receipt containing only anonymous table counts and timestamps, with no account, email, domain, site ID, user ID, or event identifier.
Are you a site visitor at a WooCommerce store that uses Sygna?
Sygna processes your data on behalf of the merchant (the site owner). The merchant is the data controller for your personal information. Here is how to proceed:
- Contact the store directly. The merchant is the right first contact. Look for their privacy policy or contact form.
- What Sygna may hold about you. When a store sends conversion events through Sygna, we may have processed SHA-256 hashed versions of your email, phone, or name to forward to ad platforms. We do not store raw email addresses or phone numbers. Hashed identifiers may be present in event logs for up to 12 months.
- To contact Sygna directly. If you cannot get resolution through the merchant, email [email protected] with the store URL and the email address you used at checkout. We will respond within 30 days. Some requests may need to be coordinated with the merchant.
Data already sent to Meta, Google, or TikTok
Deleting a site or your Sygna account removes data from our systems. It does not remove events already forwarded to Meta, Google, or TikTok — that data is held by those platforms under their own retention policies. To request deletion there:
- Meta:use the "Off-Facebook Activity" tool in your Facebook settings, or contact Meta support via your Business Manager account.
- Google (GA4): use the data deletion request in your GA4 property settings under Admin → Data deletion requests.
- Google Ads: contact Google Ads support to request deletion of uploaded offline conversions.
- TikTok: contact TikTok Ads support via your TikTok for Business account to request deletion of events sent through the Events API.
Your broader data rights
Beyond deletion, you may also request: a copy of your data, correction of inaccuracies, or restriction of processing. Depending on where you are located:
- EU / EEA and UK users — you may file a complaint with your local data protection authority under the GDPR or UK GDPR.
- California residents — you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA. Contact us at [email protected] to exercise them.
- Israeli users— you may file a complaint with the Privacy Protection Authority (Reshut HaGana al HaPratiut) under Israel's Privacy Protection Law and Amendment 13 (effective August 2025).
